What better use of a fossilized ammonite, than to make the little creature look like its alive once again :)
Ammonite Nautilus is from a class I taught a few years ago. The spectacular layered fringe is nearly an inch thick near the base of the fossil… because besides lumpy bumpy embroidery, I adore thick lush fringe - and came up with a way to make it crazy thick on embroidery projects while coming up with this project! :)
